Mary spent most of her life in Massachusetts and began drawing whenever she could. She was fortunate to work with artists and instructors in drawing, oils and acrylics. While in the New England area, she exhibited her work at local shows, in galleries and local shops. After she moved to Dunedin, Florida in 1992, her desire was to work in watercolor. Classes for this medium brought Mary to the Dunedin Art Center where she studied with the artists and instructors from the area for several years. For fourteen years, Mary presented her work at professional art shows throughout Florida.
While visiting her daughter in Maine, she went to local fiber fair. There was my first encounter with the medium of nuno felting. It was love at first site! After searching for classes, she found them in Bath, Maine and at that point, was ‘hooked’ on this medium. After returning to Florida, Mary researched and found classes and workshops to enhance and to continue to create within this medium. In pieces of her work, she combines hand painting with the fiber creations for unique designs.
