Pellon: Where do you find inspiration for your work?
Sara: If I listed all the places I find inspiration you would probably fall asleep. But generally speaking, I find inspiration from craft sites, craft books, my kids, and thrift shopping.
Pellon: What does your creative process look like/entail?
Sara: Messy. My sewing table is a wreck. I like to have everything out so I can see what items to mix and mingle into a new project. Often I stock up on thrifted items and start an idea based on that item.
Pellon: Why do you enjoy sewing?
Sara: For me, sewing offers stress relief and a sense of accomplishment.
Pellon: Do you create mainly for satisfaction, gifts, art or another reason?
Sara: I create for several reasons including gift giving, an opportunity to inspire others, and occasionally moolah.
Pellon: What tips or tricks learned through experience can you share?
Sara: Learning how to sew on a minimalist sewing machine helped me discover my sewing pet peeves. When the time came to upgrade my sewing machine I knew exactly what features to look for that would make sewing more enjoyable for me.

Pellon: When and why did you start sewing?
Sara: My first sewing project was a pillow, which I still have, made in my 7th grade Home Economics class. I still cringe at the sight of the fabric pattern I picked.
Pellon: What triggers youto start a project?
Sara: Imagining my ideascoming to life propels me into my craft room, robbing me of yet another goodnight sleep.
